UPDATED: What are the Chances of Arriving On Time with Your Luggage?

My guess: 1 in 4

Today’s November 20th for the Children, a grassroot support of Mike Huckabee. Check it out!

Tomorrow I’ll be flying home. Nothing like traveling on the biggest traveling day of the year. Since I’ll be home, I doubt I’ll be tackling any big topics on this blog like world peace or the meaning of life (though the answers to those questions aren’t as tough as they might seem).

I do like to travel. It gives me countless hours where I don’t have to think. This makes it perfect for reading books and writing papers, because they don’t require brain usage. So that’s not entirely true, but it’s the good kind of thinking.

I always see interesting people when I travel, too. I like to guess where people are going and why. I chuckled at the sight of an unprepared traveler with bags in disarray who grilled the gate agent about details of the boarding process and then proceeded to tell him that she had lived in South America for years and traveled back and forth regularly.

I’ve struck up many an interesting conversation with someone traveling to see his wife and daughter who live in a different city than the one he works in, someone traveling to visit their new boyfriend whom they haven’t seen in years, and someone traveling home after working a 6-week stint in a city 3 hours away. That last one blows my mind: why would you fly the equivalent of a 3-hour drive? I assume there was more there, but I didn’t want to ask.

That said, best wishes to all who are traveling this week. May God keep you safe and bless your time with family or friends!

**Update: Who knew that “ontime” wasn’t a word? I did! Yet somehow it got past my keen proofreading skills…in the TITLE. Yikes.**
