60 Unimportant Facts about Me
Posted in Dusting the Historian's Library and tagged with Lists, Me, Meme on February 18, 2008I love being tagged. It means that someone is thinking of you. Or at least they think you are a sucker. I have a feeling that you don’t like me being tagged as much as I do, and I think that if I tagged the usual suspects again they just might give up on me altogether. Therefore, if you would like to play along (and boy, whitewashing this fence is so much fun!), just let me know so I can read your responses!
1. What is in the back seat of your car right now? Nothing. I keep a neat car. My trunk isn’t quite clean, but the front is since I haul kids (they’re responsible for their own junk, though I do remind them).
2. When was the last time you threw up? A few weeks ago. Before that, I could have said early high school.
3. What’s your favorite curse word? None.
4. Name 3 people who made you smile today? Umm, it’s early? Nicole made me smile by tagging me, April made me smile by scaring me unintentionally twice in the wee morning hours, and my boss made me smile just now. We have a happy workplace.
5. What were you doing at 8 am this morning? Reading for Baptist history, actually. Yay for getting work done in the morning.
6. What were you doing 30 minutes ago? Sitting at my desk.
7. What will you be doing 3 hours from now? Preparing someone’s tax return.
8. Have you ever been to a strip club? Nope.
9. What is the last thing you said aloud? “It’s always crazy.” About the cell phone shop.
10. What is the best ice cream flavor? Just had it yesterday: Coldstone’s cake batter ice cream with chocolate chips. Yummy yum yum.
11. What was the last thing you had to drink? Water, actually.
12. What are you wearing right now? Pink fleece (though it’s too hot!) and brown pants. I really should have taken heed that 60 degree weather didn’t require me to dress warm, but that’s 6 AM thinking for ya.
13. What was the last thing you ate? Rainbow chip cookies.
14. Have you bought any new clothing items this week? No. Probably haven’t bought anything in over a month. I still have money to spend on a NY&CO giftcard (and a 30% off coupon), so I need to go soon.
15. When was the last time you ran? Oh, you didn’t. I ran a little a week ago babysitting. Generally, I try to avoid it.
16. What’s the last sporting event you watched? It’s not fall (college football) and it’s not March (March Madness), so I haven’t watched anything lately. I think I eyeballed maybe 5 seconds at a time the first half of the first quarter of the Super Bowl.
17. What’s the last thing you attended that required a ticket? A movie, to be sure. National Treasure 2, I think.
18. Who is the last person you emailed? That reminds me that I need to email my brother. (pause) So I emailed my brother last.
19. Ever go camping? Yes, a couple of times. I’ve been on at least one family campout, Girl Scout camping (in cabins), and Boy Scout camping (in tents) on family night’s and the like. I haven’t done it in years, but I enjoy it mostly.
20. Do you have a tan? It’s February. I got a good tan this summer thanks to my trip to Florida and my Saturday swim/layout days. I hope to have a tan again this summer.
21. What do you prefer: Natural Sun or the Tanning Bed? I’ve never been to a tanning bed, and hope I never have to. I like my radiation in less concentrated doses and natural.
22. What’s the best way to tan? Being in the sun helps (how is this different than the question before?).
23. What’s your favorite drink? Diet Dr. Pepper, though some call me a sellout.
24. Do you drink your soda from a straw? If it’s from a restaurant.
25. What did your last IM say? Probably “bye.” I haven’t been on IM in a long time.
26. Are you someone’s best friend? I hope so, since I have best friends. I consider Dana “the” best friend, but I’m tight with my current roomies as well.
27. What are you doing tomorrow? Class, studying, class, babysitting, and class. Tuesday is my big class day.
28. Where is your mom right now? Home sick, on her day off. =(
29. Look to your left, what do you see? An Expo eraser. I’m short, so eyelevel is at the bottom of our dry erase board.
30. What color is your watch? Silver with a blue face. It took me FOREVER to find one that I wanted. I wasn’t that picky, but I wanted a pretty one that wasn’t pink (since I’m kinda pink-phobic cuz I don’t want people to think I’m “that girl.” My room has been decorated in hot pink for 3 years, but that’ll soon change.)
31. What do you think of when you think of Australia? Beaches and kangaroos. I’m not really sure they go together, but they have both.
32. Would you consider plastic surgery? I wouldn’t mind the results, but I know that if I were to pursue it it would be for the wrong self-centered motives.
33. What is your birthstone? Blue topaz. Purty.
34. Do you go in at a fast food place or just hit the drive thru? Totally drive thru. I love eating in my car.
35.How many kids do you want? I always say 8 when asked, mainly for the reaction. I suppose it’s not far from the truth as I certainly want a few, but I’m okay leaving the planning on the number to God, whether that be more or less. Oh, and I don’t plan on giving birth 8 times. I want to adopt at least a couple of ‘em. Adoption is just a cool picture of what God has done for us!
36. Do you have a dog? Are you kidding? The one dog that I “owned” I was scared of. My brother’s dog, Boomer, is the closest I’ve ever come to actually caring for a dog. He’s cool, I let him sit on me and everything, but no kisses. No way.
37. Last person you talked to on the phone? Our volunteer who comes in to do taxes.
38. Have you met anyone famous? Jason White. I was his cashier at Walmart. He had to wait in line for like 15 or 20 minutes, and I didn’t even see him until he was right up on me. It was right after OU lost their second national championship in a row, so Norman weren’t really huge Jason White fans at the time. Yet, he came in on a busy Saturday a week after the game and bought a whole cartful of groceries with his girlfriend and daughter. I talked to his daughter a little, but I felt too weird about the fact that I didn’t recognize him earlier to say anything to him. He looked at me funny the whole time, probably since he was surprised I didn’t act like I recognized him.
Also, I checked out this other guy one time that totally looked like Brad Pitt. He was all scruffy and hairy though, as if in disguise (dressed like a cowboy too). I really don’t think it was him, but my hand was shaking when he handed me his money. Funny that didn’t happen when I checked out Jason White, and I knew it was him.
39. Any plans today? I thought I’d work at some point. And then go home and write a book review for philosophy.
40. How many states have you lived in? Three. Kansas (obviously), Oklahoma (for college), and now going on three years in North Carolina.
41. Ever go to college? As I just said, I went to college in Oklahoma (Boomer! Sooner!). I’m also 10 months away from completing my masters.
42. Where are you right now? At work.
43. Biggest annoyance in your life right now? That pesky school thing. Not really, but I’d rather not share the real annoyance. Just not appropriate to share with the masses.
44. Last song listened to? “Jesus, Thank You” on my awesome new CD.
45. Is that your favorite band/singer? No. My favorite singer (for his voice) is Collin Raye. I haven’t listened to him in awhile though. He’s old enough to be my dad.
46. Are you allergic to anything? Grass. I used to be allergic to it by touch, but I don’t think I am anymore. I try to avoid it anyway. I can’t be around it if they are mowing or something, or I’ll sneeze and sneeze…
47. Favorite pair of shoes you wear all the time? I wear a lot of flip flops in the summer, but wintertime’s footwear is more blah: two pairs of brown shoes and a pair of black shoes are my staples.
48. Are you jealous of anyone? Not really. I love my life. Sure, I’d love to be married with kids, but I’m happy where I am.
50. Is anyone jealous of you? Doubt it. If you are, please let me talk you out of it.
51. What time is it? 1:02. PM of course. I get up at 6, remember? (Forget the fact that I was up until 1 yesterday)
52. Do any of your friends have children? Yes, but not really any that I knew well before they had kids.
53. Do you eat healthy? Not really. I’m better than I used to be and I try most days, but I’ve gotten into some bad habits again. Oh, and I totally don’t go the organic, no-preservative route. I still don’t understand what makes dairy organic (okay, I understand, it just makes me laugh).
54. What do you usually do during the day? Work or go to class.
55. Do you hate anyone right now? No.
56. Do you use the word ‘hello’ daily? Surely.
57. When? When greeting someone and “hi” sounds too informal.
58. How old will you be turning on your next birthday? 26. It’s a ways away though, so I’ll be a spry 25 for awhile.
59. Have you ever been to Six Flags? Yes, in St. Louis. It’s where I realized I do love roller coasters (I went through about a 10 year period where I didn’t).
60. How did you get one of your scars? I fell down while roller blading around the neighborhood in 6th grade and ended up with 2 scars on each knee. I think one has faded away, but the others are still there. I didn’t really roller blade again after that. (I also had an incident with a huge puddle and an audience, but I’ll save that for another day).

Okay, Tom Sawyer, I posted. Now time for me to hustle to work.
