Easter Happenings
Posted in The Life of the Historian and tagged with Easter, Food, Holidays on March 23, 2008Wow, is it already another day? I don’t know any more what to post today than I did yesterday. I guess part of the problem is that I know very few people will even read this. If you are reading this, will you leave me a comment? That would make my day. It’d also motivate me to actually put some thought into my blog posts.
The sunrise service this morning was wonderful. Though it’s cold here (it was around 35 this morning while we were outside), it was neat to be gathered with my church as we watch the day dawn. It was followed by a hot breakfast and some good time talking with some friends that I rarely get to see.
Before the worship service, I got to spend a few minutes watching a friend’s two-month old baby. This is the first time that I picked her up when she was crying and she actually stopped crying for me. It made me feel good; I’m much better with older kids than babies.
After a wonderful service, I went home and started dinner for a few friends. It was great to get together as a sort of mini-family. Though I had the option of going to someone else’s for dinner, I greatly enjoyed getting to be the one making the dinner and hosting the friends.
I made:
Apple and orange chicken (I had forgotten how good this is!)
Mashed potatoes (this is what I just HAD to make, and I worked everything else around it)
Corn (every good holiday has corn)
Hard boiled eggs (they actually turned out just fine)
Green olives (okay, I didn’t make them, but this is a normal part of a holiday meal for my family)
Rolls
Carrot cake
Okay, I’ve posted something of substance and a list, may I be dismissed? Thank you. See you tomorrow, more motivated.
Happy Resurrection Day! He is Risen!

Hey Ronnica, My name is Jeff Priour and you know my wife Erin. I found your blog a few weeks ago in her bookmarks page and i wanted to let you know I love reading your blog. It is sometimes serious, sometimes funny, and other times random. All that to say I told Erin the other the other day I wanted to meet you cause I thought we would get along well and laugh a lot. So, thanks for all your posting and sharing, it does get read and it is encouraging!
