A Few Things

Time for an update on many different things, with a few new things sprinkled in.

1. I’m already behind on the school year. No professor would say that, but I’m saying that. I’m not where I would like to be when it comes to reading for my classes. I read about 40 pages this weekend and that’s it. I would have preferred to have read 200 or 300. But I focused on other responsibilities, so I’ll take what I can get.

2. I was writing a reply email at work, and I had to type the “RE:” in front of the subject (I can’t do a usual reply for a complicated reason that isn’t worth explaining). The original subject was “forms needed for the filing season,” referring to the tax season (yes, we, or really the IRS, is thinking ahead). I accidently typed “re” rather than “RE:” so the new subject was “reforms needed for the filing season.” If only THAT was the topic of the tax discussion, hehe.

3. The swinging pendulum that I call my emotional state is no longer swinging quite to high. I got some good sleep in this weekend as well as some downtime, both of which helped. Hanging out with friends definitely doesn’t hurt, either.

4. It’s not that I hate being single, but the desire to be married never really goes away. I look at my life and I realize how completely blessed I am, but sadly, sometimes I want more. But I believe that the desire to be a wife and mother is a God-given desire, and one day He will fulfill it if He so chooses. And if He doesn’t, He will bless me in other ways. He is good, and I trust Him.

5. I feel like I need a 5th thing to round out this post. Is there something that I need to update on or needs follow up?

  1. I totally know what you mean about reading! My major required insane amounts of reading, and I always felt behind.
Meanwhile, annoying as I’m sure it is to not be able to reply properly, that is a pretty amusing new email title :)

  2. I know you will think I am just saying this, but as soon as you stop hating being single, you won’t be. It happens every time.

You seem to be a very loving young woman – don’t fret so much. As someone who has been married a long, long time, I can tell you we both could’ve waited longer before we got married even though we wouldn’t change a thing now.

It’s hard to explain until you know.

Don’t worry about the future. Enjoy today!

  3. Well, I felt that post was great without a 5th thing in there :)!

I love reading your posts, because even though I was married for 13 years and have my sweet family—being single again, I have all those same feelings you do. I feel the love of my God all around me–but there’s that void of romantic love that’s sitting in my heart right now. And even thinking about finding anyone else with my children being the major part of my life is terrifying. And yet, I was a very happily married woman and I would love to be able to find that again one day. But still be willing to accept God’s will if it is for me to be single and just focus on my children.

    Sigh.

You and I should get together and have ice cream and do our reading for class together! Maybe I should try clicking my heels together 3 times and I’d end up there :)!

  4. Totally with you on #4. I hate it when people ask or expect a change in the status, but it doesn’t mean I don’t think about it now and then either. Hard to be in the mid-zone of not-impatient but hopefully expectant for God’s will in His perfect timing. Is that understandable? It may just be my jibber jabber…

  5. Dear Ronnica…don’t push yourself too hard with #1 and 4. Really, believe me. As soon as you stop looking, God will send the right guy your way. It’s true! At first I thought it was a cliche…then I met Peter.

  6. Well, I hate being the out-lier here, but I accepted being single and stopped looking around the age of 29. I was married more than 10 years later, just two months shy of my 40th birthday.

For #5, how about an update on the smell in your apartment (smoke). If you updated that already, I must have missed it.

  7. I love what you wrote as #4! I’m so sure you feel that way and you know He will bless you!!! =)

    #2 ~ HA! I love it! Funny!

    Thanks for stopping by! =)

I hope all is going well for you!!!! I need to go back and catch up on your 1st day of school! I’m sooooooooooooooooo behind on my blog reading! BAD ME! =)
