Happy SITS Day!

Forget about the fact that I have a paper due today and a test this evening. Let’s focus on the important things in life instead, k? Today is the SITS blogathon day! Many of you already know that, or are even here because of that. Welcome, if that’s you!

I love being a part of SITS for two reasons: people come visit my blog and going to visit others’ blogs. It’s a fun community and I’ve made some great friends through it.

All of us SITS ladies have been asked to highlight 5 blogs that we’ve found through SITS. This was a lot harder than I thought. Sometimes, I couldn’t remember exactly how I “met” a blogger. Then the next step was to narrow it down to the exact 5 that I’d list. So this was a hard decision, but I’m going to highlight:

1. Lynda at Art on a Limb

Lynda was one of the very first SITS ladies to comment on my blog, right after I was listed as a Saucy blog. Lately, she’s been talking about her Dwight-like coworker, the Colonel, and it’s been cracking me up!

2. Smoochiefrog at In the Mind of a Thirty-Something Mom

I won’t lie, I first started visiting Smoochiefrog’s blog because she had some great giveaways. And then I won one. After receiving a Papa John’s giftcard from her which allowed me to indulge in food that I’d never buy for myself, I decided to check out more of her blog. Her posts about So You Think You Can Dance hooked me, but since then I’ve enjoyed other things, like the eccentricities of her children and her fight against the makers of Big Red gum (okay, “fight” might be a bit much).

3. Heather at Nobody but Yourself

Heather also visited me back when I was a wee Saucy blog. She commented on my YouYou, which required me to answer quirky questions about her.

Here were my answers:

1. “No, I don’t want to see your thumb wound.”
2. Lucy Kelson (Two Weeks Notice)
3. Baked, with onions, green beans, and a little oil.
4. The animals being showed, particularly sheep. I saw the meme where you talked about your 4th grade presentation…hilarious!

I guess I’m going to make you check out that post to see what the questions were!

4. Julie at My Journey to Family

My favorite thing initially about her blog was that it is PURPLE as is her house. What could be a better color for a blog? I’ve always leaned towards pink, but that’s because I wanted to always have brown or blue as one of my colors, because of the Kansas theme.

Anyway, I enjoy Julie’s posts (except for the picture of the hairless cat…ick!). Check out her post about her recent identity theft problem…it points out things I have to tell clients all the time!

5. Rachel at Mrs. Mouthy

Rachel is a very new bloggy friend. We “met” when she was featured last week. I absolutely love her sense of humor! She has a weird blog format (Windows Live), but it’s easy to overlook when you read her writing and the funny “quickies” she puts on the top of each posts.

A recent one:

“QUICKIE: Me: “Looks like it stopped raining, Vincenzo.” V: “Yup. Now it’s just wind-ing.”"

So, go visit these blogs, enjoy, and tell them I sent you! Happy SITS day!

  1. In response to being single gal and frugal cooking I thought I would share this with you. Make a stew pot in your freezer. With those bits of left overs that do not make a meal put them in your “stew pot” (covered tupperware dish). All that this and that of meats, vegtables, pasta and taters will go in the pot. When it is full then take it out, defrost while at work, then add to large pot with some broth. Now there is a large pot of stew that takes no time to do as it was already cooked before and your just heating it up. Have your buddies bring crackers, corn bread, tea and desserts and y’all have a great POT LUCK dinner.

Thanks for coming to see my blog care of the SITSers.
