Just the Way You Like It

1. I babysat last night, and once again these kids were curious why I “didn’t have a family.” The 5yo boy asked me, after asking me if I had parents, “Do you have a phone?” I answered affirmatively, and then he said, “Then you should have a family.”

Oh, if only it were that easy.

2. Several of you have asked about my test on Tuesday. It went well. I got back a test I took in another class today, and I did well on that one too. The strange thing is that when I was talking about Tuesday’s test with my roommate and a classmate, I teared up thinking about the fact that I only have 2 tests for school left. Who tears up over tests?

3. I won’t be around much next week as I have training for work Monday-Thursday and will have to commute longer than usual. I probably won’t be posting as I’ll want to use my time at home for more productive things like watching Jeopardy and reading The Glass Castle. I never take bloggy breaks, so I figured you all would forgive me.

4. I have been mulling over a Point/Counterpoint series on a controversial topic, and I just might step on some toes. But I guess that’s what point/counterpoints are for: to deal with controversial subjects. I’ll probably be doing that once I get back from my blogging slowdown next week.

I think the series points/counterpoints sounds interesting…as long as people are mature.

But lemme tell you, Moose LOVES his Husker bib…and his Husker coat, pants, shirts, button-up shirt, blanket, sippies, (he even had a pacifier he never used)….Go Big Red!

I think I am confused. So you don’t have a family or you do? I read your 100 things and it mentioned your family. I know, nosey mind my business. Great blog either way! Keep up the good drive working towards your masters, impressive!

  3. Ronnica Says:

@DJane: I suppose I should have more clear for people that are new to my blog. I don’t have a family of my own: as in a husband and kids. I do have parents and a brother and all that, but that’s not what they were asking about. They see me as an adult and think every adult (or pair of adults, actually) as a family of their own.

Kids think and say the darndest things, lol.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Happy blelated SITS Blogathon.

  5. DJane Says:

Oooohhhh… I see. LOL Sorry. I just assumed they meant calling your family that did not live in the home. But I get it now. One day!

I got kind of sad when I was getting ready to graduate college–so I guess it’s kind of the same as getting teary over tests! (Maybe not really at all) Good luck and enjoy your bloggy break!

  7. Rachel Ann Says:

Kids are funny…I’ve gotten more than my fair share of them asking me why I don’t have my own kids…they don’t even seem to think you need a husband (or at least a steady boyfriend) to have them!! LOL!

I hope watching Jeopardy gives you random facts to store in your head, and that you finish your book!

  8. EmmaP Says:

funny on the kid thing. Maybe since i have a phone, i should have a husband (???)

oh – and my curiosity is sooo piqued by this upcoming point/counterpoint issue. cant wait!

  9. Blissful Babe Says:

I have a phone. 2 of them, actually. And I have a kid.

Seems I missing the husband part.
    Hey, I’m game! ;)

Enjoy your bloggy break! Everyone is entitled at least one. :p

  13. Carrie Says:

Well, of course, it makes sense that if you have a phone you’d have a family. Yes, yes…..

    Kid logic at work!

  14. Michelle Says:

You mean your cell phone plan didn’t come with a family? That is how I got mine!!! :)

Have a good week……we will miss you!

  15. Ronnica Says:

@Michelle: I KNEW I should have opted for the family plan. LOL

  16. Wep Says:

If only we could all speak our minds and be innocent like kids…

  17. CaraBee Says:

That is totally understandable to be emotional about your tests. You’re approaching a major change, that’s both sad and scary. But it is also really exciting! Good luck on those last tests!

Oh yeah, and how boring would life be if we tiptoed around never saying anything controversial. Bring it on, I say!

  18. Vicki Says:

Have fun on your bloggy break :) I’ve been posting a lot less lately and it’s freeing in some ways.

    Kids draw the strangest conclusions…

And, if you got an ant tattoo it would probably have to be bigger than life size right?

I mean, a whole trail of tattooed ants crawling up your leg would be kind of disturbing.

    Great comment at SITS!
