A Christmas to Remember
Posted in Historical Adventures and tagged with family on December 27, 2008This holiday has been the most unusual one that I’ve had. It has been completely different than any we’ve had before. First, we celebrated Thanksgiving on Saturday and Sunday after the holiday, then I barely make it back for Christmas day.
That would make it strange enough, but my brother didn’t make it home at all on Christmas Day as his girlfriend was in the hospital (she’s doing better, that’s all I say here). It was to be her first Christmas with us, too. My brother did come up for a few hours yesterday for a Christmas meal and opening presents, which was great.
Though it was different and not ideal, it’s been a good time. I’m very fortunate to have seen my parents so recently so missing a couple of days with them wasn’t devastating as it might have been.
Today is the last day that I’ll be in Wichita. Tomorrow morning I’ll be driving down to Texas through Oklahoma (for those of you shaky on US geography). I’ll be stopping and spending a few hours with a couple that has ministered to me a lot when I lived in Oklahoma on my way down. Once in Texas, I’ll be spending a couple of days with Dana, my college roommate, before coming back up to Kansas on New Year’s Eve. Though I more than likely will not be online during that time, you’ll definitely want to stop by Monday and check out the post I’ve scheduled for then…it’ll be worth your while!
I hope you all had a good Christmas! What was your favorite part?

Hmmm it does sound like you’ve had an interesting holiday ride this year. My favorite part of this CHristmas was just watching my son enjoy everything. It’s all been so exciting through the eyes of a two year old! GREAT fun.
In case I don’t get another chance to say so – Happy New Year!

Drive safely, Ronnica. Since we were snowed in, it was different for us too. We usually spend the day down in Phoenix with family. But it was very enjoyable, just the 4 of us. I’ve heard from a lot of folks who feel this Christmas was just different.
Happy New Year to you!
