It's like nails on a chalkboard when I see mistakes. Having said that, I often go back looking at old posts of mine and discover typos. It kills me. I hate to think of someone thinking of me as a person who uses bad grammar. Which reminds me, when I left my job to be a mom, I sent out an email to ALL of my business contacts (hundreds of people) letting them know about my departure. After I clicked send, I looked at it one last time and noticed a misspelled word. I was mortified. My last correspondence professionally and I make a mistake. I am the spelling and grammar nazi. Ronnica, you have just made my day. My 9th grade English teacher swore to us (his class) that if we paid attention in class, we would experience physical pain when people dangled prepositions.

He was right, by the way.

I hate the way online communication has abandoned the rules of punctuation, capitalization, spelling, and everything else. I’m glad that there are still some others out there.

I'm friends on facebook with my kids' babysitter, and I actually emailed my husband in excitement when, in an online exchange with her friends, she correctly used the word "you're", not "your" or even worse, "ur" like her friends were writing.
