Target Giveaway, Anyone?
Posted in (Non)Historical Prizes and tagged with Giveaway on December 29, 2008As you have probably figured out by now, I’m new here at Ignorant Historian. Obviously, my library is filled with past volumes from Tale of a Kansas Girl, but the library itself is new. So I need a little help.
One of the problems with changing blogs is losing your audience. Now, if you’re here, you’ve made the transition with me, and I thank you. But in order to make the transition complete, I need all eyes on me. Oh wait, sorry, fell into my teacher-voice. But I think what I’ve about to say will give you cause to pay attention.
I’m giving away a $50 Target gift card. Yessiree.

I would like to improve in the area of reading this year. I know it’s helpful to read 10 pages of theological reading a day, so I guess I’m shooting for that. I might actually break down by weeks how many books I’d like to read this year.

So I have been following you since you moved. I am, however having a problem linking you on my blog. Do not know what is going wrong. Naturally I deleted your old address before I got your new one linked up. GRRRR. I will go blog and link you through my blog until I figure out why I cannot get it on my blogroll. Any way, Target is just five miles from me. One of my favorite stops when I go to Costco. They are on the same street.

What I’d like to change for me this year is the 10 lbs still hanging around from last year! Seriously.
Last year brought many changes for me in several aspects of my life, so this year I’m praying that we’ll get on a more even keel and ‘forget those things that are behind, and press towards the mark…’

My goal is to be more creative in my parenting to keep peace and harmony in my home. I hope to learn healthier ways of cooking and food storage and study scriptures more often with more meaning (not just read to read, but STUDY to LEARN)!

I came your way via SITS. This is a very generous give-a-way. My goal is tied to something I did this year. In June, I quit smoking. Seven months later I am 20 lbs. heavier. My goal is to lose the weight I gained AFTER I quit smoking. If I can quit smoking, I am sure I can lose 20 lbs!

Improvements goals for 2009?
I have none (not that I couldn’t use a few).
I’ve never been all that enthusiastic about making New Year resolutions. So, I guess my plan for 2009 is to simply live moment to moment – making decisions as I go along. I do, however, have a feeling that this is going to be a BIG and very eventful year!

Love your new space, Ronnica! I am wanting to me more mindful of the Lord’s presence and desire to interact with me, even as I do my Bible study times. So I put a candle on my coffee table to light as I meet with him, to remind me not to treat my time with him as a task, but as a conversation. Sometimes I just need to use more of my senses!

I want to reach my goal weight of 160 in 2009. I have 30 pounds down so about 70 more to go. I also want to commit to learning how to grow more of our own food and how to preserve the harvests.

OK, changes in ’09…. always my weight. ALWAYS. And I would like to become more efficient and organized around my home… this has been a goal before too. And I want to start reading my Bible more.
Did you know that EVERY YEAR these are on my Resolutions list? EVERY YEAR!! I didn’t even make any resolutions this year. I know what I need to do, time to just DO IT!

You read my resolutions… but I think the one thing I want to do the most is to stick with my goals. I’m good at doing things for a short time and then stopping forever.

Okay, I tried to add you to my blogroll and managed to delete the entire thing. That is okay because locating the newly invisible blogroll will be a new goal for me. That and my wish to zip up a jacket without having to hold my breath first.

for the new year i would actually like to improve my sewing skills a bit, even though this year will be very hectic, i enrolled in a sewing course! heres to a great 2009!

I’m glad I found you again, its been a long time. I like the looks of your new bloggy and I also like the idea of $50 extra bucks to spend at Target. I hope you’re doing well. Are you still in Seminary in WF? I’ve got several friends that went there and some that even live there now. Take care!

Oh, I forgot to tell you what I’m going to improve on in ’09. I am going to read more. I have joined an informal book club online and we are reading one book a month. One down, 11 more to go!
