I went from working 40+ hours a week to being home the past 2 weeks. I enjoy this for the time being until I find another job but I don't think I could continue it because I am just not that disciplined.

I'm one of those people who didn't know I wanted to be a SAHM until I became one. Now, I dread the thought of ever having to GO to work. Yes, my job is supremely harder than anything else I've ever done, but it's also supremely rewarding (and I get to make my own schedule...oh, yeah, and I'm the boss..lol). You should keep practicing your cooking! Then you'll be a step ahead when you DO get married (or IF that is). :)

Check you the heck out Ronnica! I don't always love baking and cooking but it does satisfy something deep inside that feels so accomplished when I *create* something wonderful for someone else to enjoy (and myself as well, obviously or I wouldn't be carrying around 40 extra lbs!)

Wait, let me rephrase. I DO LOVE BAKING AND COOKING but it's hard and not as enjoyable when I have 20 thousand interuptions like kids screaming, diapers to change, etc. But you're reminding me to appreciate it!

Your comment about marriage and Gods will reminded me of a childless friend I had years ago. She finally came to terms with not having children, relaxed and quit trying. She now has two sons. God is certainly in control. We have lost track of one another, but I remember so clearly the day she told me that she was not going to stress about it any longer and let God have his way.
He did.
So, my friend, continue to trust and brushing up on your cooking skills. There is certainly someone out there who is going to benefit:)

As a stay at home mom, I can say that my cooking skills have definitely evolved. I confess to occasionally missing those carefree single dinners, though.

Hey, look at it this way - at least when/if God gives you a husband, you'll know how to cook. Poor Man beast...I didn't know how to cook at all when we first got married.

I'm kinda at that point of the husband search too. I've hit thirty, no one in sight, and I'm kind of ok with that. I would LIKE a husband and kids, but I will be ok without one too. However if I do get married, I would probably have to learn to cook.

Look at you being all domestic! Good practice for the real thing!
I made tostadas for dinner last night. Don't think it gelled with my Think Thin Thursday weigh in tomorrow! Or the sausage dip I made today! LOL
