What a wonderful way to commerate the day. I have gotten to the point that it is just another obligatory holiday for me. If my husband does not love me on the other 364 days, what is one day going to do? I prefer his acts of love all through the year.
Just one more day for Hallmark to make a killing.

I *love* this idea! We don't pay much attention to Valentine's Day because we've got so many holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc around it; why add superfluous money-making holidays to the list? I love the idea of focusing on the Father's love for us though. Thanks!

Planning for a Valentine's Program for the folks in our long term care centre, I usually focus on the love of family, the love of friends and conclude the program with a focus on the love of our Heavenly Father. Most of our folks have been widowed and/or single for years, and while they may have celebrated Valentine's Day more romantically, this is not the focus of their love nowadays. I'm so glad for all the love you give and show to those who need it in your circle of ministry from the Lord.

This was wonderful. What I hate about Valentine's Day is what I hate about all holidays - the commercialism (how very Charlie Brown of me). Even for the not so single girl it has become a day of obligation for husbands and boyfriends and a day to "prove" something.

I like your take on the holiday so much more. A focus on Christ enriches EVERYTHING. Makes it what it should be.

LOVE YOU Valentine's Day, and everyday!
