Giveaway: Just When You Thought I Was a Bad Bloggy Friend
Posted in (Non)Historical Prizes and tagged with Giveaway, Reading, Women on March 10, 2009Okay, I’ve hardly been around the blogosphere in the past week(s), but I’m giving you something special today.
A giveaway.
As a part of the SITS Spring Fling, I’m giving away a copy of the best book I’ve read so far in 2009 (and I’ve read 20, so I have some room to talk).
The book is Radical Womahood by Carolyn McCulley. To learn more about this book, check out my review.
To enter this giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. For kicks, mention what you think is the most rewarding or most difficult part of being a woman. (Though I’m not necessarily limiting this review to ladies, I assume that it’s primarily ladies who are interested in this book.)
Fine Print: Comments will be open until 5 PM EDT, Thursday, March 12th. This contest is open to residents of the US and Canada.

For me the most rewarding part of being a woman is succeeding in a man’s world while retaining my femininity. I get the best of both worlds, so to speak. :)
March 10th, 2009 at 7:36 am
For me, the best and most rewarding part of being a woman is being able to have children. There is absolutely no experience compareable to being pregnant and giving birth…both in a good way and a bad way!
March 10th, 2009 at 8:48 am
Big fun in SITS today! Best thing? Everything!
March 10th, 2009 at 9:26 am
I would say the most rewarding thing is NOT being a Man….LOL!
I have a couple of books up for grab on my blog, so stop by and enter! :D
March 10th, 2009 at 9:35 am
That book looks really interesting!
I think having girlfriends is one of the best things about being a woman. I’m so thankful for mine!

March 10th, 2009 at 10:35 am
Worst thing – not being able to pee standing up. It’s the only biological advantage men really have.
March 10th, 2009 at 11:16 am
I love this giveaway stuff!! Count me in:-)
March 10th, 2009 at 11:17 am
Best thing-being born with a nurturing nature, motherhood, and i have to put a comical one in (sorry!) NOT being hairy!!!
Most difficult-comparing ourselves to other women, never quite feeling like we are good enough, feelings of guilt. I don’t think those things bother men as much.
March 10th, 2009 at 11:21 am
I’d love to read this book. This is the first book I have ever seen that is faith based, but also has the feminism view.
March 10th, 2009 at 11:32 am
I can think of all kinds of things I don’t like about being a woman, but the one thing I love is being able to give birth. For the record, it’s also the most difficult. :)
March 10th, 2009 at 11:42 am
the thing i like best is overcoming obstacles that people feel you cant because you are female thanks for the giveaway
March 10th, 2009 at 11:56 am
Thanks for the giveaway! The best part of being a woman is having my kids!
March 10th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Add me in! Thanks SITSA!
March 10th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
The best part of being a woman is for me is being a mom & nurturing my kids & husband. The other side of that sword is the most difficult. I often don’t have time or energy left over for myself.
March 10th, 2009 at 12:55 pm
That books looks interesting.
For me the best part of being a woman is being a mom. There is nothing better.
March 10th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
The most difficult part of being a woman? Period pains! And trying to get equal pay for doing the same job a guy does.
Best part? Being ‘allowed’ to be sensitive, have lots of feelings and emotions.
March 10th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
Darn, I posted in the entry below. The hardest part of being a women/mom is keeping up with everyone and making it look flawless.
March 10th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
I would love to win a new book for my library!! Thanks!
March 10th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
right now i’m settling into being a wife. its a difficult balance – asking for help, but not nagging.
March 10th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
The best part of being a woman for me, hands down, is being a mom. I just can’t imagine not having my children.
March 10th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
i think the most difficult part of being a woman is working in a “man’s world” but not turning into a man. By that I mean not assuming that the male style is the only way to lead.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Being a mama, of course- after that- having friendships with other women there is just something so different between female friends & family members than you have with men.
March 10th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
the most rewarding part of womanhood is having children/raising a family:) thanks!

As someone who is having difficulties being pregnant – DEFINETLY being able to BEAR children. But since we all KNOW that’s the best part, I am going to have to say – looking hot all the time. LOL….Men just don’t get it, and the best part of being a woman is being able to smell all yummy, slather yourself in lotions and makeup and hair products, dress all cute, and make the men drool. Sad but true. They’re obsessed with us!
March 10th, 2009 at 2:56 pm
I’m looking forward to being a mom; absolutely one of the best things about being a woman!
Thanks for a great giveaway!
Happy Spring Fling!
March 10th, 2009 at 3:33 pm
Haven’t read this one. I’d say the best thing about being a woman is being able to totally relate to my two girls. My husband just shakes his head. He doesn’t understand. Thanks you.
March 10th, 2009 at 3:45 pm
Haven’t heard of it yet, but the title has my attention.
I think the hardest thing is balance. The balance we try to achieve for ourselves. The balance we thing everyone expects of us. And then balancing those two together.
It’s enough to make you scream. Or eat. Which causes another imbalance, and you’re off again.
March 10th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
I’d say the worst thing about being a woman is not being able to go to the bathroom on a hike without risking poison ivy in the worst places!
March 10th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
I’d love to win -
gotta say being a mom is fab!
March 10th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
Being a mother is both – the most rewarding and the most difficult!!! (but worth every darn second!!!)
March 10th, 2009 at 4:18 pm
The best part of being a woman? When you turn into a mom!

I found her book online and was able to read the first chapter. It is FABULOUS! I can’t wait to read it (and how convinient for it show up on my front door step?! :) )
I think the most challenging this in being a woman is to be taken seriously by both your Christian and non-Christian peers. Meek and submitting does not mean weak and a push over.
March 10th, 2009 at 5:10 pm
I love that I’m able to have kids, but I do hate having periods.
March 10th, 2009 at 5:21 pm
Why would we want to be a man? They crazy! :0P Better to be a woman! LOL
I’m always looking for new books to read. =)
March 10th, 2009 at 5:25 pm

March 10th, 2009 at 5:55 pm
I’d love to win.
The most difficult is being a Mom and see your child die.
The best is spending the time with that child until he is taken away from you.

i love books! i hope i win!
March 10th, 2009 at 8:22 pm
I agree with a previous comment–I love that we are the ones that carry a pregnancy, give birth and provide nutrients through nursing. I think my husband is secretly jealous of all that (well, except for the brief pain I was in before my epidural kicked in)
March 10th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
I want to read this, too!
March 10th, 2009 at 9:28 pm
Being pregnant and giving birth and then nursing that child is an incredible experience and one only a woman can have! I’m blessed to have done it 3 times!
March 10th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
most difficult part of being a woman is living up to the expectations placed on you by others.
March 10th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
Please include me in your giveway. The most rewarding and most difficult things being a woman are the same. It is making sure my kids grow up healthy, happy and out of trouble. I am very proud of them but they have been difficult. So to me most rewarding and most difficult is being a mom.

I love being a woman. Everything about it, raising my kids, have a smart head on my shoulders while still feeling emotions, etc. Lets face it, women rock!
March 10th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
I would love the chance to read this book.
The most difficult thing? Having a baby.
The most rewarding thing? Having a baby!
March 10th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
I live with three “boys” so I can really appreciate being a woman. I love that we are full of emotion, discussion, and love.
March 10th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Being an old fashioned woman, the most rewarding thing for me has been being a wife, mother and grandmother. The most difficult………being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Re your comment to me: I will send in two.
March 10th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
I think the best thing about being a woman, is simply that we are cherished daughters of Christ!
March 11th, 2009 at 8:43 am
Interesting book! (You don’t have to include me in your giveaway though).
March 11th, 2009 at 8:53 am
I have to agree that the hardest thing is balancing everything.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:07 am
I think the most rewarding part of being a woman is getting hugs from your husband and kids. Please enter my name in your draw. Thanks!
March 11th, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I want this book.
The most rewarding: smiles, laughter, hugs, kisses, the lightbulb moments
The most challenging: Honesty here…trying to get pregnant and not succeeding.
March 11th, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Most rewarding, getting to raise my kids. The most challenging, raising my kids, LOL
March 11th, 2009 at 4:13 pm

March 11th, 2009 at 7:59 pm
Sign me up!
I could write a post about what I think is difficult about being a woman. But ONE thing is the way I have to FIGHT to keep my home safe and untouched by the world. I have to fight the influence of the world in the lives of my children. I have to fight the influence of worldly women who could care less if my home is destroyed by enticing my husband (not literally at this time but we both know that they are out there). I have to fight my own temptation to just eat and give up. Satan desires to tear the home apart BUT Christ is greater and has won the victory already.
March 13th, 2009 at 12:30 pm
I’d love to be entered, thanks!! The best part about being a woman? The friendships and relationships that I have fostered!
March 13th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
as far as being a woman being taken for granted and not standing up for ourselves or our rights…we need to be more positive and belief we can do more.Pregnancy is easy or was easy for me- its the fact of still being treated a lower class becuase a female in work situations or elsewhere
March 16th, 2009 at 3:28 am
Most rewarding? Raising children
Most Difficult? Also Raising children
