I was checking out my passport yesterday to get the number off of it, and I discovered that it expired on Saturday. I knew it was expiring this March or next, but I was hoping to get in one more trip before it did.
Not having a valid passport any more is a strange feeling. It’s not like I have ever had the urge to up and leave the country, but it’s nice knowing that that’s always an option. I’ll definitely be getting this one renewed very soon.
It’ll be sad to send in my passport, though. It bears the marks from my trips to Spain, Mexico, and two trips to Turkey. Four international trips within 10 years isn’t too bad.
I guess this also means that I’m coming up on my 10th anniversary of being a world traveler.
If you left our country today, where would your international destination be?
Don’t fret, my dear – you’ll get your old passport back with all its kewl stamps! They just punch a hole in the cover to show that it is invalid. :) I was sad when I had to send in my first passport for renewal, since that one had my very first international trips (the UK, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico) on it. I was SOOOO happy when my old one came back with my new one!
If I could go anywhere right now and finances and travel time weren’t an issue, I’d be on a plane to Australia. Or, if shots weren’t a concern, Africa. I’d also love to go back to Italy, and I’ve got friends in the UK I haven’t visited in ages, so that’d be good too.
Where’s that winning lottery ticket when I need it….?
Where to begin? England. Australia. Ireland. Spain. Mexico. Yes! Yes! Yes! *sigh*
My husband and daughter went to Africa for her graduation gift from us as well as a missions trip. They had a layover in London coming and going. I think I’d like to go back there, London, with the whole family.
But since flying isn’t my cup of tea and rowing would take much too long, I think I’ll stay put!
When I sent mine in after I got married, I lost my Spain, Denmark, and Bahamas’ stamps. It was sad.
GREECE! I’d go to Greece! Only not really because I’m nauseous and hearburny and do not want to have a nauseous, heartburny memory of Greece.
They will send it back, with the hole punched! I was worried about mine after getting married, because it contains my work visa for Denmark and I want to keep that.
Right this very moment I would love to be on a white sandy beach. Maybe sipping a nice mojito while my size 8 body (what? it’s a fantasy!) got some sun. But really, I want to go to Ireland. That will probably be my next intl trip.
Australia first… then Greece… then Iceland…
Africa and Ireland, without a doubt or hesitation. But since Africa is a continent, I should pick a county. Tanzania or Congo. Congo is to dangerous right now, so I had better go to Tanzania.
No hold barred, I’d go to Australia. Also I can’t wait to get back to Europe. I was just telling my hubby yesterday that we couldn’t do any overseas travel even if we wanted to because my passport has expired.
