Good Friday
Posted in The Historical Faith and tagged with God, holiday, Jesus Christ, sin on April 10, 2009Today is Good Friday. As a Christian, it’s an important day for me. I didn’t grow up in a church that celebrated this day, and I never really “got” it until a couple of years ago. I’m really looking forward to tonight’s Good Friday service as a sober reminder of my own sinfulness and the great price God willingly paid to save me from myself.
To read more, check out last year’s Good Friday post.
Given the darkness of this day, it may seem strange to say it, but I do wish you a happy Good Friday.

I always enjoy Good Friday service… just a reminder that its not all about the cheery messages… its a dark day that Jesus gave His life for us. But Sunday comes.. & THAT is what we can celebrate…
Enjoy your service tonight!

I’ve always really enjoyed the masses leading up to Easter service. I’ve never understood why, since they are such a dark time. Glad to know I’m not alone!

I agree! It always felt stange to me too to say Happy Good Friday. And yet it was such a significant day that it NEEDED some sort of recognition.
I am so very thankful that on that day so long ago, Jesus Christ went to the cross WILLINGLY for me. No one forced Him and it wasn’t nails that kept him on that Cross – it was love.
A beautiful and blessed Easter to you too Ronnica.
