Weekend Highlights

*I’m back!  I got in yesterday afternoon, but managed to stay away from blogging an extra day.  Don’t take this the wrong way, but I didn’t really miss it.

*Friday, my mom, future SIL, and I went shopping.  I ordered my bridesmaid’s dress for my brother’s wedding, and it was the first one I tried on (I only tried on one other).  It looks like this and really looks good  on me.   We realized after we left we should probably have taken a picture of me in it, but we didn’t.  Sorry, I’m a bad blogger.

*I had only one delay on my trip (remember last time when I got stuck in Chicago for 48 hours?), because the bathroom was leaking out the plane.  Eww.

*I did a good job of relaxing and not doing what I felt I had to.  I ended up reading two whole books, most of another, and about 80 pages of a fourth.  They’re all good, to boot!

*It was a good to spend time with my family. I really felt like Amanda was one of us, and I hope she did, too. It’s great to finally have the sister I always wanted.

  1. Just a comment about the book reading… I thought you should know that I am taking your reading discipline as a challenge, and I am now not only doing my 10 pages of theological reading a day, but I’m also reading 30 pages of fiction a day. It’s a loose commitment in that if I run out of time in a day it’s okay, but something I’m striving to achieve. I’m looking forward to all the books I’m going to read in the coming months.

Glad you had a good time away.

  2. Wow, sounds like a great and much needed break! Welcome back, though :)

Lovely dress, though you did fall down on the blogging front with no picture, plus without mentioning what great books you read…I have to go see The Book Nook to see if you have a new review (or four) up!

  3. Okay, okay, okay! You’re all right, I should have told you what the books were. Still, you can always check out the “books, books, books” link at the top, so I didn’t TOTALLY leave you hanging.

The good books I read (and will soon review on the Book Nook):

Children of the Mind by Orson Scott Card

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Borrows

And the good book I started:

Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl

  4. I did feel more comfy this time–it’s getting easier to fit in each time I come together with you all. I think it helped that I was a total klutz at lunch…

    Yay for sisterhood!
