Go Tarheels!
As I approach my 4 year mark of living among Tarheels, I’ve become one of them. Sure, I’ll still be a Kansas girl at heart, but my love for the state of North Carolina has grown and grown. I finally broke down and bought a Tarheel t-shirt.
I suppose I still could have been North Carolinian if I had bought a Duke, NC State, or Wake Forest shirt, but I always have gravitated towards UNC. When I was in high school, I remember seeing Carolina Blue and thinking it was the best color for a school. Then, I found out that UNC had a basketball tradition, and that was certainly something I could respect. After Roy Williams moved back there, I was basically a goner. Once I moved to North Carolina, I was sold. I still root for my Sooners and my Jayhawks first, but I was pretty pleased to see UNC win the Final Four.

Purse
For those of you who aren’t sports fanatics, I bought a cute new purse the same time I bought the shirt. It’s functional, allowing me to hide the book that I always carry with me, as I’ve gotten some negative feedback lately. I think it just might be the title of the book I was carrying around, Special Topics in Calamity Physics. Don’t worry, it’s a novel.

Love the bag! Not a fan of basketball at all, but the blue looks good on you! :-)

Great bag! I can totally relate to always carrying a book with you. It’s like American Express for me… I “don’t leave home without it”.

I don’t follow the Tarheels, but I hear of them. I have always loved their blue and admired it from afar. I’m surprised it’s taken you this long to get a shirt.
Okay…question. What’s the deal with the negative feedback about the book? I’ve never heard of it. What’s it about?

That’s a name of a novel? Is it a comedy :-) Joking!
LOVE your bag!!! Too cute!!

Pam: Love it…so true!
Liz: I don’t know, it was weird. The first time I was reading during a break from training (when everyone else was standing around talking) and someone said, “Is it that boring that you had to bring a book?” Then a couple of times when I was reading that particular book people looked at me as if I was being all snotty and brainy…I guess they really thought it was about physics, as they certainly didn’t read where it says clearly on the cover, “a novel.”
Rebecca Jo: Yes, it’s rather tongue-in-cheek, though there’s definitely a deeper, darker side to it. It was quite an interesting book.

You know, I have lived in VA for 12 years and I still have not become a fan of any of the DC sports teams. My parents are from Ohio and root for the Ohio teams, so I just do the same.
The bag is cute! Now that summer is here I am looking forward to carrying all my cute bags around.

I think a lot of times people who read in public or in more social situations are regarded as snobby, reserved, or unfriendly because it’s not the norm. Ahem, also maybe (while I’m not saying you shouldn’t carry a book) it would be a good “out of your comfort zone experience” to attempt to NOT carry a book for a few days and force yourself to get to know others. God may use you in their lives ;-)

You’d better not let Riley see you in that shirt…
Lovin’ the purse!

Tressa: Thanks! This IS my favorite color to wear…it looks good on me even after I’d been working it in the garden and totally pale!

I love the purse.

The purse has Tar Hill blue undertones :)
I have ALWAYS loved North Carolina’s colors. And my all time favorite basketball player, Michael Jordan, played for NC… right? I think I’ll google it.
And yes. I understand the love of college sports.
Roll Tide.

Seriously glad to hear that was a novel! LOL.
I do love sports, too. And maybe it’s a sign of age, but I only like professional sports these days. I used to LOVE college basketball about 15 years ago. Good to see someone else really into it now.

Cute bag, and it matches perfectly with your tee :) And who’s giving you lip about your book? Shame on them!
(PS~~Okay, fine, I finally cleaned up my blog list to remove your old blog ;)

I like the blue.. and that big is divine!

That shade of blue looks pretty on you.
You might as well join in. Atleast it is a pretty color
not like that orange color other teams use. haha.
Great bag too. You are coordinated and ready to cheer
on UNC.
