Fightin’ Song
Posted in Mixed Bag on July 10, 2009Can I retroactively declare this fluff week at the Ignorant Historian? As some insight into how I plan posts, I like to have two serious/thinking posts a week, and usually post them on Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday/Thursday. This week we had a great discussion about manning up…and then some quality fluff. And more fluff. And don’t forget about the sous vide.
So, I guess I could give a great theological argument today, but it’s Friday. I like to avoid thinking on Fridays, and you probably do too. So instead, fluffy stuff all around!
Monday night I was playing Loaded Questions with some friends. It’s a fun game, and definitely can be eye-opening. I thought I’d share with you some of the questions that we got, along with my answers:
1. If you were on America’s Most Wanted, what crime would have have committed?
Protesting illegally. I couldn’t think of anything else that I’d be prone to!
2. What three adjectives describe yourself?
Disciplined, ordered, and quirky.
3. What’s your most embarrassing moment?
Being wrong (couldn’t think of a specific time, but I’ve done it a time or two.)
4. If you found $50 on the street and had to spend it right now, what would you spend it on? (The uproar this questions caused was hilarious, as Jen and Dori were both there as well…the same friends who found $110 and I made them give it to the dude whose property we found it on.)
Clothes. In fact, I went out and bought clothes 2 days later.
And then one last question that I didn’t get, but was good…
What song would you come out to if you were fighting in the world boxing championship?
So, ladies and gents, how would you answer that?

Nothing wrong with being fluffy.
“Fighter” by Christina Aguilera.

Sometimes a little fluff is necessary.
So, what, you don’t have a fighting song!?
I’d probably pick Eye of the Tiger or somethign from the Rocky movies. =)

lol Great answers. The last question is a doozie (sp?)! I’m going to have to think about that one!

Fluff is fun once in a while. You learn a lot about the author!

Great answers. I’d spend my money on my kids because that is where it all goes anyway!
As for song, I’m at a complete loss!

I seen someone else put it – but that song “Fighter” by Christine Aguilera has been in my mind for DAYS now! :) that is a good one!

Wow, what a fun idea! Last night we were out for Thai food and my friend was quizzing us on American History from a trivia book. Not quite the same, but similar enough to make me smile :) I am SO not the fighter type that it took me a few minutes to think of a song! I really don’t listen to a ton of “pump you up” music, but I dug through my itunes and found a “finals inspiration” playlist…so I’m going to go with…”Lose Control” by Missy Elliot

I’ve never played that game. Sounds interesting. I would pick something “Rocky” related. And the is absolutely nothing wrong with fluff :)

Fighting song: “O Fortuna” from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana
Most embarrassing moment: Teaching a college environmental health class several years ago. I was sitting on a desk when (in slow motion), the desk slid out from underneath me and I (wearing a dress) went flying backwards onto the floor. Oh my!

I love that you are disciplined AND quirky. That is a powerful combo. :)

I would say that you used “who’s,” when I believe the correct usage is “whose.”

Terribly cliche, but I would come out to the Pink song that says “I’m coming out so you better get this party started”… :)
My crime would have been force feeding twinkies to skinny women.
And I LOVE fluff!
And once again I make your post all about me :(

I’m thinking something soulful and jazzy, like a Norah Jones hit…
