Dear Toothpaste Tube,
I’m sorry that I have not been fair to you over the last few months. To be completely honest, you’re not my first. This twice-daily relationship we’ve had has been sweet, but it’s nothing new to me.
Nor is it forever. You might have noticed, but you don’t have much to offer me anymore. Soon, I’ll be finding another, younger, flashier toothpaste tube. I’m sorry if this is hurtful to hear, but I just want to be completely honest with you.
And that gets me back to the original reason to write this letter to you. I feel guilty and must confess that I’ve not treated you like I’ve treated the toothpaste tubes before you. I’m afraid that I’ve hurt you by treating you so carelessly. In the past I’ve been a strict toothpaste tube roller. It’s efficient and neat, after all.
But I’ve not given you that courtesy. Instead, my actions have left you an utter mess. I have made you look like a worthless piece of trash, albeit unconsciously. And for that, I’m very sorry.
I promise to treat the new toothpaste tube with the care and respect that you deserved.
A newly-recommitted toothpaste tube roller,
Ronnica
And what a way to start the day/week…
I clicked over to apologize for being hit or miss lately with my blog reading and to get caught up with you. And what do I find?
From the very title of your post, I was slapped in the face with honesty. The post itself was heartbreaking and well… brave. You have inspired me to share my secret as well.
I too am a toothpaste tube abuser. I have also been known to leave toothpaste on the side of the sink and I allow my husband to gripe about it and blame our kids. I’m not proud of my toothbrushing behavior.
I hope your toothpaste finds it in it’s minty fresh heart to forgive you.
Such a good chuckle for this Monday morning. Praying for your relationship with your new tube… ;o)
My poor toothpast tubes have been thoroughly neglected. Now I feel bad, I had never considered their feelings before! Thanks for the laugh!
Very cute. I’m a smasher not a roller too. Especially when I buy the really long tube. It ends up looking pathetic at the end. I should stick with the shorter tubes because I have short hands.

LOL! This has me now considering how I treat my toothpaste tube…
Cute! I love your sense of humor. Great post!
srsly, i have a daily sruggle with our toothpaste. hubs pushing from middle instead of push from bottom. always a gooey mess!
OMGOSH!!! ahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! Only you!!
I try. I honestly do try to be a tube roller, but with an 8 year old daughter it’s hard! I’m sure the apology was accepted!
The poor tube. I might’ve cried a little. (Not seriously…)
I roll my tube. I do. I’m too frugal not to.
Ah, yes, sometimes we just forget about the little coutesies that mean so much! That’s why I have decided that the extra money for pumps is worth it.
