Ramble, Ramble, Ramble

* Yesterday may have been the most difficult day at work I’ve had since working here (certainly not ever…nothing can compare to the Valentine’s Day Massacre of 2005).  Fortunately it was project-difficult, not people-difficult.  I ended up working 2 hours late last night, which I haven’t done since the heart of tax season.  I’m not a procrastinator, so I stress out when I have to do everything at the last minute.  Fortunately, that stage of the project is over.

* Though yesterday wasn’t fun, I did order our tickets to see Phantom of the Opera, so I definitely have that to look forward to.  Jen, Dori and I are excited to see it as well as to celebrate my birthday and Dori’s graduation.

* I’m looking forward to a more relaxing weekend, and hopefully a more normal week next week.  I am babysitting Saturday night (I welcome every opportunity to save up money for my trip to Italy!)

* I realized a couple of days ago that I’ll be away from home almost half of November and December.  A week spent in Turkey, half a week in Kansas, half a week in Texas, and a week in Kansas.  Then in January comes a couple of days in Georgia and another half-week in Kansas (both for weddings).  I’m looking forward to it and think these will be great breaks pre-tax season.

* I’m really looking forward to moving into our new offices, probably at the beginning of October.  Yay for having an office to myself!

I love your travel plans! My sense of adventure has been squashed by my nesting instinct, and while I’m happy at home now I also hope my gypsy feet come back soon!

I am so excited to hear more about your travel plans! Sorry I’ve been such a lousy blog friend and commenter lately! Enjoy your nice and relaxing weekend!

All of your travels and plans sound like a BLAST! Where are you going to see Phantom at? It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to see it. Tons of fun though.

    Have a great weekend!

All those trips sound great. Where in TX? I’d love to go see Phantom. Good for you for going.

    Barry: Awww, thanks! Me too!

    Kristina: Thanks! You too!

Mrs. Mouthy: Gypsy feet…what a great way to put it. I don’t really have gypsy feet, though. I LOVE being home. But if I want to see family/friends, I must go. I haven’t been able to convince them to move to NC yet.

    Caity: Yep, me too!

Carrie: They should be. We’re seeing Phantom here in Durham. It’s a new place…I’m excited (and it’s my first time)!

Joy: Denison. Random, I know, but that’s where my college roommate lives.

We saw Phantom a few years ago. Loved it! Sounds like you are going to be busy, busy, busy the next few months. Turkey AND Italy? Color me jealous!

Hi there! Found you on the ning site – and I’m glad I did – looks like you have a cool presence here! Love making more digital friends.

Where in Italy are you going?

I was in Italy this past spring – had an amazing time! :)

I plan on doing my taxes on January 1st, this way I can see how much I have, how much I owe, and what I will need to do to give them the rest of the money I owe.

Way to go for making it through a very stressful day, and I hope this weekend is very relaxing for you!

  13. Amanda Says:

Wow, you’re flitting all over the place this year!! :) I don’t think I’ve traveled farther than 2 hours from home since…April! That’s very unusual for me, but I’m kind of enjoying being a homebody, and saving money too ;) have a fab weekend!

  14. Melissa B. Says:

I’m in work-stress mode, too. 100 papers to grade this weekend! Have to get them out of the way, or they’ll just pile up. You know how that goes. Procrastination is not my friend! I’m sure you’ll enjoy Phantom. That’s one I’ve never seen, but so many people sing its praises!

  15. Ronnica Says:

Cara: I know, crazy, right? I haven’t been out of the country in 3 years, but the timing is right NOW for both of these trips!

Sydney: Rome for sure (the friend I’m traveling with has friends there, so we can stay for free!). Beyond that, I’m not sure as we haven’t started planning yet. Any ideas?

Amanda: Make that 3 hours, and that would be me, too. And if I didn’t have various trainings for work, I think I wouldn’t have traveled more than an hour from where I live in that time!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Phantom of the Opera

We stayed for eight days in Rome – and really enjoyed our time there – we also spent a few days in Treviso, which is 40 km north of Venice. If you have time, I’d definitely recommend it. It’s a medium-sized medieval village with just a great and special energy!
