In 6 months, I’ve spent one night away from my apartment, and that was just to babysit overnight. I enjoy being home, but I’m also a traveler at heart, so I’m starting to get restless. Good timing too, because half of November and December (and a week of January!) will be spent elsewhere. Here’s what I have coming up and has me so excited:
November 6-15 Turkey (a post with more on this is forthcoming)
November 26-30 Kansas for Thanksgiving with the family and my sister-in-law’s shower
December 15 My birthday, stuck in the middle of everything else!
December 17 Phantom of the Opera! I’m going to have to borrow back my video so I can watch it again before then.
December 19-29 Kansas, Texas, and Kansas again. I’m visiting family in Kansas for the holidays and spending some time in Texas with my college roommate and her niece.
January 8-10 Georgia (know I said that with a fake Southern drawl in my head) for April’s wedding (she was my first non-roommate friend here in North Carolina). Just bought my dress for her wedding. It looks like this, only navy:

Sorry it's a bad picture...we were in a hurry because the bride was waiting for a ride at the airport!
January 20-25 Kansas, for my baby brother’s wedding!
Once all that happens, it’ll be tax season in high gear for the next couple of months. I’m glad everything worked out just like this…I think I’ll be ready to buckle down and get to work after all the traveling!
When I travel, I love to read. Do you know of any good plane reads?
goodmorning FGD…you know I like mysteries…some favorite authors…James Patterson…his chapters are small and quick to read…so good; also like Robert parker and Stuart Woods…Does help the time pass.
You certainly are going to be busy traveling. Glad I will get to see you during some of those trips. Talley-ho.
Anything by Jodi Piccoult is a great plane read!
That is a lot of traveling! But so much to look forward too :) An adventure in Turkey, and seeing so many family and friends, what a great way to end the year!
As for plane reads, not sure.
My last plane ride I brought the laptop and worked on my book!
Have you ever read Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier? That’s always been one of my favorites. I’ve read it several times.
Elizabeth: No, but it’s high on my to-read list. I’ll have the pull it out.
I envy you your trip to Turkey!
Texas? Oooh!
I second the Jodi Picoult suggestions, although I’ve gotten kinda tired of her books.
Audrey Niffeneger (author of Time Traveler’s Wife) came out with a new book, maybe look into that?
Ooooh and if you have not read Veil of Roses, that’s like my favorite book ever. Sooo good. As are Something Borrowed and Something Blue, both by Emily Giffin. :)
I’m so jealous, I really want to travel some in the next little while, pretty sure I’m travel hungry. Umm and good books, I loved House at Riverton and Cleopatra’s Daughter as the most recent books I’ve read.
To read? Something easy, that’s easy to put down and then pick back up. Where in GA are you going? I’m from middle Georgia and went to school in Atlanta. :)
Wow! You are going to be one busy gal traveling about! Sounds like great fun! As far as reads, I can’t offer much for ideas………my reading has fallen to the side of the road since my two kids arived. Gah! I miss reading books…..
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
I saw Phantom on Broadway and LOVED it. If you like the movie, just wait ’til you see it performed. Amazing!
Sounds like you have a lot of fun things ahead of you!
PS – LOVE THE DRESS!!
oooh! i hope you take lots of pics and that we get to see them!!!!
