About Time for a YouYou
Posted in Dusting the Historian's Library and tagged with Meme, YouYou on December 1, 2009You know what we haven’t done in like, forever? A YouYou. I think it’s time to bring one back, don’t you think?
And for you naysayers who think I’m only doing this because I had nothing else to say this morning, well, you’re right.
Leave a comment and I’ll tell you/make up:
1. Your favorite subject from back in school.
2. What word I think about when I think about you.
3. Which animal you should buy as a pet.
So come on and join in on the fun!

Oh fun! Count me in! (PS…I see your tweet that you’re looking for graphic novels to try. I know I recommended Fables so my advice is suspect, but check out Sandman and see if it appeals to you. The writing/storytelling is much stronger, especially as the series progresses, but I’m not sure if the subject matter would appeal to you. Read a blurb, and if it appeals to you, give it a go. Oh, or maybe Death: the high cost of living. It’s about the 1 day a century Death (a perky young woman) must live as a mortal. It’s in the Sandman series, but I think it can stand alone. Also, I haven’t read it, but there is a Persepolis II. I haven’t read it in years, but I recall enjoying Why I Hate Saturn by Kyle Baker…again, see if it sounds appealing to you!). Sorry, that got a bit off-topic :) I’ve got 2 graphic novels in my to-read pile: the Hedge Knight and another installment of Fables. Fun!

What if I’m not sure I want to know what word you think of when you think of me? ; – )
December 1st, 2009 at 5:53 pm
Include me, Ronnica. I want to know what you come up with.
December 1st, 2009 at 8:37 pm
Pick me!
December 1st, 2009 at 9:00 pm
I love this idea–is it a Ronnica original? I think I’d be too afraid of being wrong to even try it on my blog, but maybe one of these days I will…

Sorry, I’m not trying to be a slacker! Will get to YouYouing in a minute. First to your comments:
WAC: Thanks for the suggestions…sounds good! I still trust your judgment even with Fables…it did open my eyes to something new for me.
Mrs. Mouthy: No, I got it from a friend who no longer blogs.

English was my favorite subject! And you know I’m investigative about my faith, but I also used to be a forensic psychology major. We had goldfish when I was a kid. They lasted for a while, but when they died my mom said she just couldn’t take care of any more animals so we didn’t get anymore fish. We had 12 dogs and 14 cats at the time!!

I’ve never done a YouYou. Or had you do a YouYou. Whatever! I think this might be fun. I’ll let you know when it’s over.
I’ll decide then if I like your game of us giving you a word and you making up a story better.

December 3rd, 2009 at 10:49 am
Be right back–I’ve got to go buy a sea monkey! I love the idea of buying just one!
My favorite subject was L.A….it’s a safe bet that people who blogged probably loved L.A. But I’m flattered you think it might have been science; it makes me feel like I’ve crossed some gender line. :)
December 3rd, 2009 at 11:25 am
How did you know about the handwriting? I worked so hard at my penmanship when I was in elementary school. I hate writing sloppy. I feel like handwriting is a reflection on my character. Can this be conveyed in my blogging???
I would love a little Sheltie friend for Dixie, too. Maybe someday, but it would take a lot of begging the husband. I’m not sure that falls under the heading of Proverbs 31 Woman. =)
December 3rd, 2009 at 11:28 am
Mrs. Mouthy: True (though it wasn’t mine), but I got tired of putting the same thing over and over again.
Liz: Haha! I don’t know, it’s just what popped into my head. Maybe it does come through on your blog?

Rodney:
1. Public speaking.
2. Radio.
3. Emu. You could just catch one on the street, couldn’t you? Sorry to go stereotypical Aussie on ya, but I’ve always thought the emu was a cool bird.
Jacki:
1. Math. =)
2. Books.
3. A horse…at least Emma would like that!
Kayren:
1. Literature.
2. Daisy.
3. Guinea pig…that the kids would be responsible to take care of.
December 4th, 2009 at 2:15 pm
Ha! I love to read, but I despised Literature! My favorite subject in school was math, specifically anything to do with accounting or algebra.
We had two guinea pigs when we lived in Illinois, and the kids were responsible for them. One died not long before we left and the other we gave to a school classroom. We knew we wouldn’t have room for it when we got to our military quarters in Virginia. The kids would still like to replace them!
