1. What’s the most boring book you’ve ever read?
Probably Pearl Buck’s The Good Earth. Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath would be a close second. Those were pure torture when I was in high school.
2. What is your dream vacation?
My dream would be to spend a week on a beach, with nothing to do but enjoy the sun, water, the company of a good friend (or let’s be honest, a husband), and a pile of good books.
3. Which shoe do you put on first?
The left one. I do everything left to right, partly because I’m left handed, and partly because that’s what I feel is orderly (since we right left to right).
4. If you had to choose to not ever wash your bed sheets again or not wash your bath towel ever again, which would you rather not wash?
My towel, because I couldn’t imagine going to sleep every night for the rest of my life in a disgusting bed.
5. What is your first thought when waking up in the morning?
I usually continue thinking about whatever I was thinking about in my dream. Once I realize that it was a dream, I’ll usually try to focus on what I need to do to get ready for the day. I’m certainly not a morning person.
I’d choose bath towel too, you always use it when you’re clean, and with bed sheets you’d have bed bugs to contend with.
I can’t say I’ve ever thought about which shoe I put on first, it’s made me think now!
I actually liked “Grapes of Wrath”. The one book that I cannot stand, that I couldn’t even finish, is “For Whom the Bell Tolls”. Ugh!
‘Cause you can always air dry. Dirty sheets are about the grossest thing I can imagine.
1. Boring book…I thought they all were until I turned 42…and promised a friend I would go to the library and check out one book. I was hooked. Now if I find a book boring, I don’t read it.
2. Dream vacation…I always wanted to go to Denmark…the birthplace of my maternal grandparents…was going to do as a present to myself upon retirement. When I got there, I decided I didn’t want to go…did a lot of traveling in younger days…now I like to stay at home.
3. Shoe…I always seem to put on my left one first as that is my challenging foot.
4. Towels…you are wet, so that sort of gets them wet.
5. First thought…Thank you GOD for another day…what do you want me to do with it?
Clearly you did not have to read ‘Billy Budd, Sailor’ your junior year of high school or you would have put that as the most boring book you had read! It was very uncharacteristic of me as a student, but I took a D on that test as I refused to read any more than a couple of chapters.
That’s funny because I’m left handed and do things right to left. :)
Charlie: It’s been an internal debate for years whether it’s best to put both socks on before both shoes or do the whole foot at one time. Yes, this is the type of thing I spend my mental energy on…
Cammy: Never read it, but I’ve heard that before!
Elizabeth: I know, who wants to lie in their own filth?
Cheryl: LOL I can’t see it! I was too goody two-shoes to ever do that, but that didn’t keep me from complaining A LOT.
Smoochiefrog: I think that it’s a righty thing to do things left to right, but since that’s “normal” that’s what I do. I’m way too dictated by arbitrary “rightness.”
Is it weird that Grapes of Wrath is actually one of my favorite books? Ha.
I like Grapes of Wrath as well…sure it’s depressing, and it makes Okies look like morons, but I like it because it gives the reader a glimpse into that time period.
And I will go to the beach with you anytime…though, I have to say my dream vacation would be to Australia.
Love you friend!
