Moving On

Can't you tell someone's excited to move to a sunnier locale?

I’ve now been at my new job for over 6 months, and I’m still loving it. But the thing with a young, growing company is that it’s easy to grow out of your space.

My team moved into a new office space across the street after I had worked here a week. I then moved to a new desk in that office after a few days, the desk that has been “home” for the last 6 months.

Well, it’s time for us to move on, as we’ve outgrown our current office spaces. While our company has made long-term plans for a really cool office space downtown, in the meantime they’re moving us to a more traditional office building where we have room to continue growing and our whole division can be working together under one roof. My department will be making this move to the next office space this weekend. For the first time, we will have our own section of the office…we’re moving up!

It will be good to be under the same roof with those that I’ve been working with for months. There are dozens of fellow employees that I have talked to on the phone or through chat or email, but I have no idea what they look like. I can only assume knowing who they are will help us work together.

Besides, I’m supposed to be much closer to the window in my new office. Me and my growing plant will enjoy that.
