Two (and a half) Months to Go!

Two-and-a-half months until I turn 30. I wouldn’t be counting down if it didn’t mean that I only have that long to finish my 30 Before 30 list! I have already been thinking through goal-things I’ll do after this done, so the fun won’t be ending when I turn 30. More on that when it gets closer to time.

Again this month, I’m going to list all 30 goals to give a sense of where I am overall.

1. Read the Bible twice through. completed September 10, 2012

Great goal and I’m glad I made it as it pushed me a little.

2. Memorize Colossians.

Like I said last month, this won’t be happening. I want to be smarter about my memorization goals in the future, to come up with a goal that will push me to actually do it.

3. Lose 50 pounds. 6/50

50 is definitely not going to happen, as it’s not healthy at this point. But I’ve been doing great on weight loss since recommitting to exercise and healthy eating. I’ve lost the 6 pounds I’ve gained since starting my 30 before 30 last year, and then went on to lose an additional 6 pounds.

4. Save $2,000. Completed 3/15/2012

5. Publish The Journal. Completed 12/26/2011

6. __________. (find a new job) Completed 12/28/2011

7. Pay down my student loans to $XX,000.

Like I said last month, this won’t be happening.

8. Write What about Emotions (working title).

Like I said last month, this won’t be happening unless I suddenly start to focus on it…which I don’t foresee.

9. Read 160 books151/160 = 94%

I really thought I’d get there this month or be really close…then I started to spend an hour a day at the pool, up to five times a week. That’s okay: I need more balance in my life, and exercise is something that has been out of balance for years.

10. Read 5 classics. Completed 2/20/2012

11. Swim a mile (again). Completed 8/31/2012

Still grinning about this one. I’ve slowly increased the distance I’m swimming to where I’m regularly swimming over 1.25 miles.

12. Work a polling place during an election. Completed 10/11/2011

13. Celebrate our 30th birthdays with Dana.

Like I said last month, this won’t be happening (at least not yet).

14. Cut caffeine down to only one Diet Dr Pepper a week.

Now that I’m eating better, I’m actually considering wanting this. We’ll see.

15. Sell 100 copies of The Journal. Completed Summer 2012

16. Make an author website. Completed 12/20/2011

17. Fast 16 days2/16

Like I said last month, this won’t be happening.

18. Pray through Operation World. 49/246 = 20%

Trying to be more conscientious.

19. Spend time on Yom Kippur fasting, praying, and thinking. Completed 10/7/2011

20. Decorate my apartment for Christmas. Completed 11/25/2011

21. Meet my niece. Completed 12/27/2011

22. Write in my journal 100 times. Completed 2/23/2012

23. Make a baby blanket for Bean. Completed 11/9/2011

24. Have an empty to-read shelf.

Should get there.

25. Write 70 encouraging letters or emails. 35/70 = 50%

Working on it.

26. Bake bread.

Just gotta do it.

27. Make my own laundry detergent. Completed 8/5/2012

28. Finish recording the Chronicles of Narnia for my niece.

Probably not.

29. Walk 4 miles on the treadmill.

I’ll probably just plop myself on the boring treadmill and do it. I’m getting in shape, but thankful I don’t have to use a treadmill to do it.

30. Read the Qur’an and the Book of Mormon. Completed 4/20/2012
