Why in the World Would I do NaBloPoMo?

For the first few years that I blogged, I participated in National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo). The only reason why I didn’t last year was that I was participating in the harder, but more rewarding, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).

But I’ve not been blogging this year like I have in the past, especially not in the last couple of weeks.

So why would I commit to blog every day in November?

Because, really, what else will I do in the month of November? Today my unemployment officially begins. Whether I like the idea or not, chances are not good that I’d start a new job before the end of the month. While I’d love to at least have one lined up by December 1st, my secondary goal of having a job by January is much more realistic, and still optimistic.

So, I’m going to blog my unemployment. Don’t worry, I don’t plan on going pessimistic on you. I doubt I’ll talk about the economy, or even much about my job search. I’d rather focus on what I believe God is doing through this time.

Fellow bloggers, are you doing NaBloPoMo this year?

  • I saw a sign in the Atlanta airport that said, “This machine takes money without bailing anything out.” Reminds me of a certain government of ours.

  • All the right teams won yesterday. Texas Tech gave me a scare, but they came through. It was fun rooting for the Jayhawks with the family, and the mostly tolerated the Sooners. Now we just have to wait and see what the BCS does to see if we play next week or not. If we don’t, then we’ll almost certainly still go to a BCS game which was my hope as I won’t be able to watch the Cotton Bowl game. (Bad planning on my part.)
  • Probably because of the item above, I dreamt about football all night.
  • Today we’re celebrating Thanksgiving 2 of 2.
  • I’m actually looking forward to this week. It’ll be a change of pace, which will be nice.
  • This is the last day of NaBloPoMo. Besides a couple of hard days (including today), it was a piece of cake. It helps when I regularly post 6 times/week. Congrats to my fellow NaBloPoMo survivors!
