I had a good, rather uneventful trip back to NC. I ended up with my baggage again and was ontime. I must admit, it surprised me that everything went as smoothly as it did considering the snow and ice on the plane in Wichita and the paperwork delay in Atlanta.
Since I had only slept 4 hours before my flight, I had no problem conking out for about 45 minutes which was nice. I was also able to get a decent amount done on my trip, especially during the incredibly long layover.
When I was going through security, I saw that the girl in front of me had one hot pink and one white sock on. She didn’t look embarrassed at all to be standing there in her mixed-matched socks, so I assumed that she was just one of those people who like to go against cultural norms. A girl I babysit likes to where mixed-matched socks for that reason.
Later in the day, I saw another lady with one pink polka dot sock and one maroon one. Is this a coincidence or a new fashion trend? Do you think these ladies (both in their late 20s or early 30s) wanted to make a statement when they knew that they would have to take off their shoes going through security?
Have you noticed any unusual fashion trends lately?
When I checked to see if “conk” was in fact a word, I found that it is also defined as “the word used to describe an aeroplane engine when it fails.” That’s not the type of conking I was talking about; the engine worked just fine thankfully.
